“You will search for me. And when you search for me with all your heart you will find me.” (Jeremiah 29:12). These words Jeremiah penned still have impact on us even to this day. From cover to cover we find God crying out and doing everything in his power to save us from our own mistakes. God wants us to make him our priority. It’s as if God is saying “Look for me, purse me, I want you to want me.” As it has been said before “God waits to be wanted.”  God has set everything in motion for us to come out on top. But it is ultimately our choice. There is a certain level of joy that overcomes us when a small child chooses to run into our arms. God is waiting for us to run into his arms in the same fashion. God doesn’t force us to come to him; instead he wants it to be our choice. God wants us to search for him with everything we have, every fiber of our being. God wants to long for the day when we will spend eternity with him. O sure God could have just appeared to us and told us who he is, but that would be almost forcing himself on us. Instead he waits for us to make the decision to come home. And when we make the decision to come home for the first time or the hundredth time he still runs to us as the farther did of the prodigal son in Luke 15:20. Just as the farther did of the prodigal son, God waits and is ready for us to come back. God has left us with the choice to choose Life with him, or to choose death. What’s your choice?

In Him,
Jeremy
