On youth trips a lot of times our teens will get bored, and on some occasions a game is played that I find both amusing and frustrating, that game being I spy. For those that have never played “I Spy” it is a very simple concept, someone finds something and says “I Spy something blue.” Then it is up to those playing to guess what that person is talking about using only the color given as a hint. The game itself is pretty fun, but the frustrating part is that I can never guess what it is they “spy”! In order to be good at the game you have to see everything that is around you. I got to thinking recently what if we saw everything around us and payed close attention to small details not just on occasion but on a regular basis. What if we saw people just as Jesus saw them? Jesus looked at people not for how much money they had, or even what they could do for Him, but instead just as they truly are, a soul who was in need of God. Jesus had such a love for humanity that He came and willingly gave up His life for us (John 3:16)! Jesus had a heart and a desire to seek the lost. What if we could see exactly what Jesus wants us to see, that the world needs to share God’s love with everyone we come in contact with!
