Where Is Your Treasure?

A part of life that we simply don’t like to talk about is death. Every one of us knows that it is coming; it is just a matter of when. We work tirelessly to make our life here on earth as great as it could be; we buy nice things, drive fancy cars, and even at times provide for others. But no matter how much wealth we acquire one thing is for sure we cannot take it with us. When we pass from this earth no matter how much money or possessions we have acquired it will be left for someone else to use. In Matthew 6:19-21 Jesus says
“Do not lay up treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither moth not rust destroys. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.”
So the question should be where is your heart? When we really stop and look at our lives where are we spending the majority of our time? Is it in service to our Lord? Or is it in service to ourselves? If we are not spending time and not just on Sunday mornings with God we know where are treasure is. It is with us. But if we truly want heaven as our reward we will spend our time with the Creator, Lover of All, and the One Who Would Move Mountains for us; that being God Almighty!
