Can you believe school has already started back? It seems like only yesterday that school got out. The summer has really flown by. Before you know it fall will be here followed by Thanksgiving and of course Christmas. We sometimes become so busy that we have no idea where the time has gone. We seldom take time out of our busy schedule for ourselves. In order for us to get the most out of our lives we have to take time and tune out the world and just be with our God. Jesus had so much going on around him, but he never forgat that the most important thing is his relationship with his father. In Mark 1:35 it says “Early the next morning, while it was still dark, Jesus woke and left the house. He went to a lonely place, where he prayed.” The creator of the universe (John 1:1-2) needed time alone with God. We can say we are busy all we want but it fails in comparison to how busy Jesus was. He had to fit a lifetime of ministry into three years. But he always made time to spend with his father.
What if for the next month we made the commitment to follow the example of Jesus and but our heavenly father first. What would be different when we looked back over that month? Would we be notice a change in our lives? Would others notice a change? How about try it and see? If a change takes place that month I wonder what would happen if we kept that up? Something to think about….
