Often times in America we have so many choices, we spend thirty minutes choosing where we will eat or what to do for entertainment. We have so many choices it is difficult to make a decision. We ask those around us “What do you want to do?”, because in reality we are floundering. If only there were fewer choices we wouldn’t spend so much time deciding what to do.

When it comes to spiritual matters we have only two choices. We choose to follow God or choose not to follow God. There is no middle ground, no following Him halfway or when it is convenient. It is a choice we make every day. In Colossians 3:1-5 Paul outlines the choices we have to make on a daily basis. Paul says to aim at what is in Heaven (v1), think about things in Heaven (v2), and finally he instructs us to put all evil things out of our lives (v5). It is up to us to make the decision to aim for Heaven, to think about things in Heaven. We choose whether or not to put evil things out of our lives. When we choose to eat fast food or sit-down, we still must choose a restaurant. In our spiritual lives we have only two choices. We will choose one, which one will it be?
