Areas of Ministry:
Disaster Relief: Food
& Water, Emergency Supplies Distribution
The Church of Christ Disaster Relief Effort is a source of supplies so that the local churches
of Christs congregations
can go to work doing what the Lord told His church to do.
The Church of Christ
Disaster Relief Effort immediately
responds to any major disaster
in the United States by
sending truckloads of emergency food,
water, cleaning
supplies and necessary items that are
distributed to
all victims in the disaster area through a local Church of Christ.
The Nashville, TN organization has fifteen employees, but most important are their unpaid
volunteer workers who pack the supplies onto pallets and the volunteer truck
drivers. These volunteers are the
secret to the success of the organization.
The delivered supplies are turned over to the leadership
of the local Church of Christ in the disaster area for them to distribute to all disaster
survivors regardless of faith,
ethnicity, race or background.
Hurricane Sally
made landfall here in Gulf Shores on September 16, 2020. The Disaster Relief Effort team responded
immediately sending the first of four semi-truck load shipments of supplies to
Gulf Shores on the evening of September 17th. We distributed these supplies
to over 500 families and 2,000 individuals in Gulf Shores and the surrounding
areas. As one family wrote to us, “Y’all are truly doing the Lord’s work, and we
felt that love in those boxes,”
To God be the
glory.
